Request for Information (RFI is a written request prepared by the Contractor requesting the Architect to provide additional information necessary to clarify or amplify an item which the Contractor believes is not clearly shown or called for in the drawings or specifications, or to address problems which have arisen under field conditions.

If Design-Builder encounters any condition which Design-Builder believes, in good faith and with reasonable basis, is the result of an ambiguity, conflict, error or omission in the Contract Documents (collectively the "Conditions"), it shall be the affirmative obligation of Design-Builder to timely notify City, in writing, of the Conditions encountered and to request information from City necessary to address and resolve any such Conditions before proceeding with any portion of the Work affected or which may be affected by such Conditions. If Design-Builder fails to timely notify City in writing of any Conditions encountered and Design-Builder proceeds to perform any portion of the Work containing or affected by such Conditions, Design-Builder shall bear all costs associated with or required to correct, remove, or otherwise remedy any portion of the Work affected thereby without adjustment of the Contract Time or Contract Price. The Contract Time shall not be subject to adjustment in the event that Design-Builder fails to timely request information from City.
