To pave the way for success for residents, we partner with over 60 social service agencies. These partners refer individuals to Onward and, once an individual makes their home with us, the agencies provide a range of ongoing support services.

Leaving a Beautiful Footprint

Catherine has been living at Columbus Place just shy of a year. She found herself unable to afford her rent and on her search for affordable housing, found Forward Housing.

Overcoming Intergenerational Trauma

Marilyn Shingoose, a Forward Housing tenant, is a proud First Nations Elder from Cote Band, Treaty 4. Although she never learned to speak her native language, she tells us wistfully her name in Saulteaux is Colourful Sky.

Onward is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina, and the Îethka Stoney Nakoda Nations of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney. Mohkínsstsisi, the Blackfoot name for Calgary, is also home to the Métis Nation Region 3. We recognize all nations, genders, and spirits who make their homes here and help us steward this land.
